“Spring In Our Back Garden”

When: Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th March 2024

Time: 11am – 4pm (last entry to the farm at 3pm)

Price: £5 per person (U3’s free)

Please note that dogs are not able to attend this event and parking will be limited

 

 March is lambing time here at Our Back Garden!

  • Come and meet our new born lambs and learn more about our flock of rare breed Hampshire Down Sheep
  • Say hi to the Alpacas and find out about our sustainable farming practices and environmental  activities, that contribute to restoring nature on the farm

(please note Alpaca Walks/ “meet and greets” will not run over this weekend)

 

  • Grab a map and enjoy time wandering and exploring the farm, follow our nature trail and learn more about some of the animals that live here and what we are doing to help them

 

  • Our rewilding meadow will host a number of nature based activities for both kids and adults~ enjoy some creative play!

 

  • Spend time relaxing by the River Ems and learn more about this rare chalk stream habitat and why we need to look after it

 

  • Make a native wildflower seed bomb to celebrate this time of birth and growth

 

  • Spend time around the firepit and enjoy a seasonal cooking demonstration

 

  • Grab a coffee or hot chocolate at the Alpaca Cafe

Spend time in nature… You are welcome to stay and wander all day!

 Spring in Our Back Garden is a great opportunity to come and experience the farm at this magical time of year, with all the promise it holds for new life. We hope you will leave with a greater understanding of our mission here at OBG: to live harmoniously with the land through our agricultural and conservation practices, as well as our deep wish to grow and build a community of nature lovers who are invested and involved in the future care and enjoyment of our local environment.
