Join us for “The Ultimate Alpaca Experience”.
Located in West Sussex at the edge of the South Downs National Park. The Our Back Garden family cant wait to welcome you through our gates to enjoy some quality time with your loved ones.
Two wonderful hours spent on the OBG farm. Learning about Our Back Garden and our alpacas. Hanging out, Feeding them, and walking them around our farm.

CHILD TICKET £25.00 (9-18YRS)
Please note children 0-8yrs are free for our walking but must be accompanied by an adult. Our minimum spend per session is x2 adult tickets £70. We need a ratio of x1 adult per 4 children for bookings.
We pride ourselves on tailoring our sessions for your group so why not tell us if you have any special requirements or celebrating a special occasion. We are passionate about our Alpacas. We want you to spend some quality time with them and you loved ones.
The experience includes 45-60min walk around the farm depending on the our pace. This will include a 10 min health & safety talk and introduction with your guide. Once your walk is complete you will have access to our picnic area in the alpaca paddock where you will spend the remainder of your time hanging out with the herd.
We always close our sessions with feeding the herd offering our fluffies some of their favourite treats.
Accessibility
Our walking experience is a form of physical activity therefore its important for you to let us know if you have any health concerns before you book so that we can best tailor the experience to suit your needs. The walk is through fields and mostly flat but can be uneven under foot. We offer a more accessible experience “Meet & Greet” sessions that will enable those who are not able to enjoy a walk with the herd to still spend some quality time getting to know our alpacas.
Children 0-8 are free but must be accompanied by an adult and our minimum number requirement for a booking is x2 adults. When bringing young children, adults must feel confident that their child can walk the whole distance of this experience. If they cannot, you must bring a sling or a carrier as we cannot accommodate pushchairs during the walking part of your experience.
If your pregnant and choose to participate in an experience we recommend you do not touch pregnant sheep or lambs and thoroughly wash your hands after being around any of our other animals, especially before consuming food.
Cancellation
Please note we need 48hrs notice for cancellations for you to be able to get a full refund. If the OBG team cancel you booking for any reason we will offer you a full refund or the opportunity to reschedule your walk. We are not monsters and normally look to rebook your walks should you have a critical reason you cannot attend the session. We are a small family run business, so every booking is important to the ability to continue looking after our back garden and all its residents.
Weather
We cannot walk in heavy rain or wind. Furthermore temperatures over 26 degrees will mean that walks will be a maximum of 30 mins with more time spent in the shade and hanging out in the alpaca paddock. We will assess the weather on the run up to your walk and make a decision on the morning of the walk if we think this isn’t suitable we will issue you a gift voucher for the value for your walk to redeem another time. If there are circumstances where you will not be able to return to us we will look to refund your money at our discretion.
Final details
We hate throwing out too many rules but please note the below before you arrive on site.
- Please ensure you arrive for your experience 10 mins before your start time. If you are late for your experience this will eat into your allotted time on site.
- We have other groups booked in and need to start their experiences on time. Please wear suitable walking footwear that cover your toes. We are a working farm so under foot please expect mud and animal poo!!
- We have lots of precious livestock on site so please ensure you leave your dogs at home. We must put the safety and comfort of animals first. Our alpacas have quite a loud reaction to anything that resembles a dog or cat.
