Pop up Cafe & Shop

Message from team OBG 24.01.24

This farm life is one wild ride and we are learning every day how to not only survive but thrive. This winter we made a brave decision to open our café and for the first time ever run some of our experiences through the winter months. The support we have had so far has been amazing and we are so thankful, but this winter has been probably one of the wildest we have had so far causing damages and issues we couldn’t have predicted. Therefore, we have made the decision to close the business and all activities for the next few weeks. This will give us a chance to get ready for our peak season (March -October)  ahead and conduct critical maintenance work on the farm and all our customer areas.

Don’t worry we will be back with a bang Tuesday 13th February for a half term full of activities for you and the kids to do. We have some exciting events and activities a head which you will be able to pre book on our website or via email as I will still be at my desk ready to answer all your questions.

To find out more head over to our website to see the full schedule.

Thank you for your continued support and we hope you understand.

Love

Laura, Team OBG & The Alpacas

***

New to the OBG story, we have now our little coffee horse box on site and a new visitor area.

We have an offering of hot drinks provided by Cast Iron roasters in Chichester Buy Coffee Beans | Fresh Coffee Beans – Cast Iron Coffee Roasters (castironroasters.com) Delicious bakes from Blue Fig Deli in Southbourne West Sussex Caterers | Blue fig deli | Emsworth.

You will also find our little farm shop located in the visitor area which will enable to shop our range of alpaca wool goods and inspired gifts.

PARKING

Please note parking on site is reserved for pre- booked guests only or for those who need disabled access. Currently we do not have disabled grade toilets/ facilities but please do speak to a member of the team about your needs so that we can accommodate where possible. We hope to be able to upgrade our facilities in the near future to make sure we are accessible for all, please bear with us until we do.

You can access us by foot from Emsworth either by walking down the Lumley road via the mill pond or via Westbourne village down the chalk stream path next to the church hall.

DOGS

With our new café format, we hope will allow for dog walkers to pop in for a takeaway coffee. However, Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times and only allowed into café/visitor area. Our Alpacas were originally acquired as guardians to keep the foxes away from our lambs. For years they have been very sensitive to anything that looks like a four-legged predator. Therefore, if your dog while on site is making the alpacas nervous, we will sadly have to ask you to leave and move your dog out of site order to protect our pre-booked customers experiences. If you have pre booked a session with the alpacas, you will need to leave the dogs at home as you won’t be able to go into the alpaca paddock with them.

We look forward to welcoming you on site. Please don’t hesitate to email hello@ourbg.co.uk or drop Laura a call on 07519847459 for more information.
