ABOUT THE RING
Here in Our Back Garden when we found the nests of our common garden birds such as blue tits, wrens, hedge sparrows, wagtails and others lined with Alpaca fleece we thought we could make available the beautiful warm alpaca wool for everyone’s garden friends.
The Woolly Nest Ring is filled with 100% raw Alpaca wool from our herd at Mill Meadows Farm. These are the shorter fibres we can’t use in our knitted products, helping not to waste a single precious fibre of our fleeces.
Each ring is hand stuffed by a member of the team and is unique in colours/ textures. Use the drop down to tell us what kind of look you want.
HOW TO USE
- Hang in the garden ideally close to areas where your garden birds come to feed or bathe. Where they will be safe from predators.
WHEN
- April onwards when the nesting season begins for most of our garden birds.
- At the end of the nesting season remaining wool can be discarded or stored in a cool dry place. The ring can then use as a bird feeder holding fat balls or similar.
- For the next breeding season, the woolly nest ring can be refilled with Alpaca wool which we would be happy to provide for you, just get in touch.
